WATS Help Chat Disclaimer

1. Data Storage & Infrastructure

WATS Help Chat is built on Microsoft Azure’s secure cloud platform. Your data is processed and stored in the following regions:

  • Application & Database: West Europe (Azure SQL Database)
  • Search Services: Europe (Azure AI Search)
  • AI Processing: East US 2 (Azure OpenAI Service)

Because AI processing is performed in East US 2, your messages may be transferred and processed outside the EU/EEA as part of providing this service. For general context on Azure’s approach to data residency, see Microsoft’s Data Residency in Azure↗︎.

2. What We Collect

When you use WATS Help Chat, we collect:

  • Questions and the AI’s responses
  • Session data including IP address
  • Which source you used to access the chat (Support Center or WATS Portal)
  • Usage analytics (response times, token counts)
  • User feedback (ratings and comments you provide)

3. Third-Party Services

Your interactions are processed using the following services:

Azure OpenAI

Your messages are sent to Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service for AI-powered responses. Prompts and completions are processed under Microsoft’s enterprise privacy and security commitments. Your prompts and responses are not available to other customers, are not available to OpenAI, and are not used to train generative AI models. Google reCAPTCHA v3

Google reCAPTCHA v3 is used for bot protection on every message.

Azure AI Search

Your search queries are processed through Azure AI Search to retrieve relevant knowledge base content. For more information, see the Azure AI Search Documentation↗︎

4. Data Retention

  • In-Memory Sessions: Automatically deleted after 30 minutes of inactivity.
  • Database Storage: Conversation history is stored in our Azure SQL Database for analytics and service improvement purposes.

5. Security & Encryption

TLS certificates are used to secure and authenticate communication between the user, WATS Help Chat, its cloud services, Azure AI Search, and the Azure OpenAI service.

6. AI Limitations

WATS Help Chat uses AI to generate answers. It can be useful, but it may make mistakes. Treat responses as general guidance, not professional advice. Double-check important information with official sources or human support. You are responsible for how you use the output.
