A New Way To Connect Your Tools
WATS is implementing support for MCP (Model Context Protocol), which allows different AI tools to communicate with each other securely.
In practical terms, this means you'll be able to connect WATS to tools you're already using, like Claude and ChatGPT, and ask them to perform data analysis and root cause analysis using your WATS data.
That means the same depth of insight and domain expertise built into WATS but accessible from wherever you're already working. Everything runs in a secure cloud environment and is built to meet the authorization and compliance requirements that matter in a manufacturing context.
Ask AI question about your data
Instead of manually exporting data or navigating multiple reports, you can ask questions like:
- “What caused the drop in First Pass Yield last week?”
- “Which test stations contribute most to retesting?”
- “Find the most common failures for this product revision.”
- “Summarize the top production issues across factories.”
The AI tool can then retrieve and analyze relevant WATS data for you.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that allows AI tools and software platforms to communicate securely with each other.
For WATS users, this makes it possible to connect tools like ChatGPT and Claude directly to manufacturing test data without custom integrations or manual exports. Just create a token and connect to your preferred tool.
The advantage is a faster and more flexible workflow where AI tools can retrieve, understand, and analyze production data directly from WATS, using both the underlying data and the analytics capabilities already built into WATS.

MCP support is currently being finalized and will soon be available as a beta preview for WATS users.
