New Releases! See What's New in WATS
Driven by customer feedback

You asked, we listened

There’s a lot happening in the world of AI and yes, we’re actively implementing technologies like LLMs and MCPs into the WATS platform.

But great software isn’t built on AI alone. It’s built together with the people who use it every day.

Based on ideas and feedback from the WATS Idea Exchange and customer feedback sessions, we’ve introduced a range of new improvements and features designed to make everyday work in WATS faster, simpler, and more efficient.

Improved workflows, visualization, and system management

We’ve updated, optimized, and expanded several areas of WATS, including:

  • Software Distribution and System Manager
  • Asset Management
  • Dashboard widgets and visualization improvements
  • Multi-edit for UUT and UUR reports
  • Factory Map visualization
  • Shared and Global Process Heatmaps

Software Distribution and System Manager

Faster and more efficient package downloads

Packages can now be downloaded in the background before installation begins. When it’s time to install, the files are already available locally.

We’ve also introduced parallel file downloads in the Package Manager. Earlier versions downloaded files sequentially. The new version supports up to 10 parallel download threads, which significantly improves download speed.

WATS Software Distribution Package Manager

Cleaner configuration and improved usability

Package Manager settings have been moved into the Client Config GUI, creating a more centralized and secure setup. The Package Manager interface is now cleaner, more intuitive, and easier to use.

WATS Client Configuration and Software Distribution

Centralized management from System Manager

You can now edit Software Distribution Package Manager settings directly from the System Manager. This makes it easier to manage globally connected WATS Clients from a single control panel.

New automatic installation options

Two new settings reduces the need for operator involvement and simplifies software deployment workflows.

New settings allow packages to:

  • Install automatically after download
  • Install automatically at computer startup

New map view

The System Manager now includes a new map view, allowing you to visualize connected WATS Clients geographically alongside the existing list and tree views. Plus several additional minor improvements and optimizations.

Asset Management

Improved calibration and maintenance handling

You can now use external value intervals on asset types, making it easier to integrate WATS with external calibration and maintenance systems using from-to date intervals.

Reset Total Count

Users can now reset the Total Count on assets instead of copying or creating a new asset.

New REST API endpoints

Additional REST API endpoints have been introduced to simplify integration with external systems.

Dashboard improvements

New image widget

Users can now add images to dashboards, including logos, product images, or other visual references.

New measurement chart widgets

The existing Measurement Dashboard Widget has been replaced with two new widget types:

  • Individual Measurements Chart
  • Aggregated Measurements Chart

The Individual Measurements Chart allows users to visualize individual measurements directly inside the Dashboard module.

Multi-edit UUT and UUR reports

Edit multiple reports simultaneously. Users can now select multiple reports and apply the same header edits across all selected reports at once. Planned for the upcoming WATS 26.3 release.

New Factory Map widget in Dashboard

Users can now upload a shop floor layout and place WATS Clients directly on the map. Each client displays status information and statistics in real time. Planned for the upcoming WATS 26.3 release.

New sharing options for Process Heatmap

Process Heatmap now support the same sharing capabilities as Dashboards, including shared and global/public visibility options. Planned for the upcoming WATS 26.3 release.

These latest updates are the result of ongoing collaboration with the WATS community through our Idea Exchange and customer feedback.

Your feedback helps shape how WATS evolves and we’re continuously working to make test data management simpler, faster, and more valuable for our users.
